Foundation Mission

The mission of the Foundation is to establish collaborative partnerships with rural and urban grassroots community organizations seeking to take democratic control over their local resources and to build sustainable energy, food and water systems. The Foundation supports the development and dissemination in the common domain of knowledge and technologies relevant to the operation of such systems. The Foundation also seeks to create opportunities for dialogue and education between communities to help foster mutually supportive alliances at the local and global level.

The Foundation will put into practice the following principles in all areas of its work and will respect the different ways in which these principles are articulated in different cultural, social and political contexts:

  • Emancipation from all forms of oppression, with a specific focus on gender, and
